Program plan
The PhD program is structured over three years, with key progression points each year:
• First Year – Literature Review & Research Proposal (Progression Point 1):
In your first year, you will focus on refining your research proposal and conducting a comprehensive literature review. You will also have access to academic workshops and resources provided by the University of Bedfordshire. Year 1 culminates in presenting your research proposal to a viva examination panel. Upon passing this review, you proceed to the next stage.
• Second Year – Research Implementation & Thesis Development (Progression Point 2):
In your second year, you'll implement your research and begin developing your thesis. You may also present your findings at conferences, gain teaching experience, or publish your work. A second examination panel will review your progress at the end of this year.
• Third Year – Thesis Completion & Viva Examination (Final Progression Point):
In your final year, your focus will be on completing and refining your thesis. After supervisor approval, you will submit your thesis and defend it in a viva voce (oral exam) before an examination panel.
