MEU’s Hosted MSc of Applied Translation Programme Obtains “Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission” Accreditation

Amman – The MSc of Applied Translation programme, which is hosted at the Middle East University in cooperation with the University of Strathclyde, has received the Private Accreditation from the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission for Higher Education Institutions.

The program was sponsored by the former British Ambassador to Amman, Bridget Brind, during the announcement of a new package of international programs hosted in cooperation with the University of Strathclyde at the Middle East University, in the presence of the President of the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission for Higher Education Institutions, Dr. Dafer Al-Sarayra, the President of the University of Strathclyde, Prof. Sir Jim McDonald, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Middle East University, Dr. Yacoub Nasereddin, and the Middle East University President, Prof. Salam Al-Mahadin.

In this regard, Prof. Al-Mahadin said that the MSc in Applied Translation programme represents at its core the university’s endeavors that are aware of the interconnectedness of the global scene, where the demand for skilled translators is more important than ever. She added that the program meets this need through a careful and forward-looking approach, as it provides its students with linguistic competence and a deep understanding of the cultural, technological, and ethical dimensions inherent in the field of translation.

It is worth noting that the university announced the launch of two new disciplines: Masters of Strategic FinTech and Masters of Business Administration in September 2024, to be added the joint pharmacy programme, MPharm, which is the first of its kind in the region.
